My morning tea always
tastes better by candlelight

Alone in a room of my own
aware of the stillness that surrounds me

There is something about a lit candle
that makes a room come alive

All my senses become heightened
Wanderlust imaginings fill my mind

The candle flickers with hypnotic light
inviting buoyant energy
to share this esoteric space
as we merge into
secluded stillness

  1. Beautiful!
I never thought a candle would give so much, especially at breakfast time! Oh I'll have to try that as soon as i get back home.
Who said candles were meant to be lit only in the dark?

  2. a poeace filled morning it sounds...i like a taper as well...and tea sounds wonderful...happy saturday...

  3. Lovely poem! I've always *LOVED* candles! I surround myself with them :-) ♥

  4. Oh how I love this! You share much happiness through your writings that inspire so many of us. This piece reminds me of a saying that I do not know the author of, but it is perfect for sharing with this awesome prose of yours:

Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared. ;-) ♥

  5. I agree the natural elements such as fire heighten the senses...thank you for reminding's time to light candles again. My spirit could use some buoyant energy...Beautifully written
