I try my best to try new forms
I count and rhyme and count and rhyme
Oh, alas it takes so much time
How to count oh, I'm so forlorn
Why do I try when I'm so shy
Each time I try I can't conform
Why do I try when I'm so shy
Each time I try I can't conform
I acquiesce as well decline
I try my best to try new forms
This is my second attempt at Octain, a new poem form, invented by
by Luke Prater for One Stop Monday.
I'm glad you make the effort
ReplyDeleteThis should be our header for One Stop Form - it fits so well
thanks for joining in today
it's trying that gives life and experiences meaning. Just as trying new forms of poetry can bring inspiritation to the soul of a poet, such as you.
ReplyDeleteLol ~ brilliant! well done for giving it a go! : )
ReplyDeletesmiles. i think you did perfectly fine.
ReplyDeleteNiiiiice! I often feel this way when encountering new forms; especially if it must be in iambic pentameter. I think you handled this form perfectly.
ReplyDeleteHi Elena -
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully presented blog.
I try my best to try new forms
I count and rhyme and count and rhyme
Oh, alas it takes so much time
How to count oh, I'm so forlorn
Why do I try when I'm so shy
Each time I try I can't conform
I acquiesce as well decline
I try my best to try new forms
You nailed the form, I'm not sure what your worried about! O like your line 'I acquiesce as well decline'. I think if you worried less about getting the form right (which you did) and looked more at the words you'd be happier with yourself :)
Warm regards
Luke
You nailed it Helena. You always do!
ReplyDeleteSee even the creater of this form says you nailed it !! You dont give yourself enough credit ... Your talent shines !!
